Jobs that you could do at DuBois Center
Counselors
Live and work directly with the campers on a day to day basis. Lead many of the programs and curriculum activities of camp. Counselors spend a majority of their time working in small groups with the campers. Age requirement: 18 years old or entering college.
Lifeguards
Lead aquatic activities and maintain a safe aquatic program and work area. Must possess current lifeguard certification or enrollment in class that leads to certification, including training in Waterfront safety. Counsel campers when not directly involved in lifeguard duties and assist Waterfront Director as required. Age requirement: 18 years old or entering college.
Barn Staff
Assist in the equestrian program and maintain a safe program and work area. Previous experience with Western or English riding is a plus. Assist Equestrian Director as required. Counsel campers when not directly involved in equestrian duties. Age requirement: 18 years old or entering college.
Challenge Course/Archery Instructor
Lead all aspects of the challenge and archery programs. NAA or equivalent certification helpful as well as training on the DC Challenge Course. Counsel campers when not directly involved in program duties. Age requirement: 18 years old or entering college.
Crafts Instructor - Volunteers Only!
Create and lead craft activities and maintain a safe craft program. Assist Program Director/ or Assistant Director as required. Counsel campers when not directly involved in program duties. Age requirement: 18 years old or entering college.
Supervisory Positions
Conference and Rustic Camp Coordinators
Assists in the direction of the Conference and Rustic Camp programs thought the Summer. Responsible for coordinating and supervising all aspects of the Camps, including staff supervision. Supervises and supports assigned counselors and volunteer session directors. Works closely with the Volunteer Director for each session and provides leadership for large group activities. Lives in Hickory Lodge or Wildwood tent village and works directly with the campers on a day to day basis. Replaces Program Director as Summer Camp Director when needed. Leads many of the program and curriculum activities of the camp. Must be 21 years or older.
Equestrian Director
Runs the equestrian program and supervises assigned staff. Must have formal training and/or certification in horseback riding and demonstrate knowledge of both Western and English riding. In consultation with the Maintenance Director, care for the barn, horses, and tack. Assists Program Director and Rustic Direction with the weekly planning of riding schedules. Is expected to participate in evening programs when not at work in barn. Age Requirement 21 years or older.
Waterfront Director
Maintains all aquatic equipment and supervises overall aquatic program and staff. Current lifeguard certification or higher and previous waterfront experience. WSI certification preferred, as well as certification in Small Craft safety, and Waterfront Safety. Trains lifeguards as spotters in emergency procedures and conducts in-service drills. Is expected to participate in evening programs when not at work. Age Requirement 21 years or older.
