Fall Festival is TOMORROW!

Dubois Center’s 2019 Fall Festival is tomorrow, Sunday, October 6!

This is a great event to share with church members and the community! Yummy food, live music, crafters and artisans, hayrides, horses, boat tours, hands-on crafts for kids – there’s something for the whole family!

Check out this link to the event page on our website and you’ll find all our Fall Festival information, flyers and more in one place.

Don’t Miss Out on These Stunning Quilts!

Fall Festival and the much-anticipated Quilt Drawing are THIS SUNDAY (you don’t need to be present to win).

This year, two beautiful and unique queen-size quilts have been donated. One is a stunning block pattern in steel blue and tan. The second is an elegant log cabin design in colors from the Southwest. With these works of art, we hope to raise over $2,000.

You can help by spreading the word – share this opportunity with your friends and family! A flyer with photos and tickets are available. Completed tickets and payment must be received at DuBois Center by 4:15pm Sunday, Oct 6 to be included in the drawing.

Fall Festival Friend-Raising

Mark your calendar! Start spreading the word! Fall Festival is more than just a fundraising event – it is a FRIEND-RAISING event.

Throughout the summer, new campers tell us that they first experienced DuBois Center during the Fall Festival. With that in mind, our marketing team gets more creative each year and finds fun new ways to spread the word at this event. They share our story – the summer camps, family retreats, Nature’s Classroom experiences and all the opportunities for church and community gatherings. But they need your assistance!

There are flyers to help you get started; print this one in color or this one in black & white. Who can you introduce to DuBois Center this October?

Fall Festival Thank You

We just want to say “thanks” to the volunteers, staff, vendors and guests who helped make Fall Festival 2018 such a success!

Watch our blog and upcoming editions of the Weekly Connection e-newsletter (sign up below if you haven’t already) to hear some of the fun stories from this event.

Volunteers Still Needed for Fall Festival

Calling all church groups, individuals, families, scout troops and youth needing service hours – lend a hand for a couple hours or for the full day! Fall Festival is DuBois Center’s biggest one-day event of the year and would not be possible without the efforts of scores of volunteers.

There are so many ways to help – prep and serve food, paint faces, supervise crafts and activities in the Kidz Korner, catch pontoon boats, walk horses in the arena, take tickets, assist guests in the Upscale Resale Shop or serve as a cashier.

Sound like fun? Contact DuBois Center at 618-787-2202 or dcinfo@DuBoisCenter.org.

Save the Date – Fall Festival 2018

The ISC Outdoor Ministries Team (OMT) announces the 42nd annual Fall Festival at DuBois Center on Sunday, October 7th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Many of the traditional favorites for this autumn fundraiser will continue to be featured, if enough supervisors and volunteers come forward. We hope many will be able to participate as a volunteer, as a donor of food, items, or money, as a crafter, a musician, and/or a buyer.

Your church will receive more information this summer about the Fall Festival and updates will be printed periodically in the Weekly Connection. For more information, please contact Norma Borgmann (OMT Chairperson) at 618-533-1658 (H) or 618-292-4617 (C) or nborgmann1658@charter.net.

The Countdown for Fall Festival 2017 has begun!

Believe it or not, the Outdoor Ministries Team has been working on the 41st annual Fall Festival for a while now. This traditional fundraiser will be held on Sunday, October 1 from 11 am – 5 pm this year.
We will continue to offer the established “favorites” in food and programming, but are seeking groups to operate food stands as well as musical performers. Also, volunteers are needed in the various areas.  Previous crafters will be contacted soon – however, if you are a first-time crafter interested in being considered for a space in the craft area, please contact Susan Fuchs at SusanKFuchs@gmail.com.
The one major change this year is a new “Upscale Resale” Shop (each item valued at $10 or more) in the Fireside Area of Oak Lodge. Those who usually provide Silent Auction baskets, etc. are certainly welcomed to continue donating. However, each donation will be price marked for sale on that day before 4 pm. Due to requests for a larger seating area to accommodate the diners in Oak Lodge, we will set up more tables/chairs for them to eat. The remaining half of the Fireside Area will house the ‘Upscale Resale’ Shop to attract shoppers looking for the right item(s). We expect each donated item to be nice, clean, and easily carried. Suggested items for donations in the “Upscale Resale” Shop are: purses, suitcases, jewelry, coats, general décor, lamps, seasonal decorations (including wreaths, small trees), floral bouquets, kitchenware, etc. Donated items may be brought to DuBois Center, or pick-up arrangements may be made by contacting Norma Borgmann any time before September 29.
More information will be sent to the 79 ISC churches this summer in addition to periodic updates in future editions of the Weekly Connection and on this blog. The Outdoor Ministries Team hopes that you will include the DuBois Center’s Fall Festival on your calendars now for Oct 1.
If you have any questions or comments or need info, please feel free to contact Norma Borgmann, Fall Festival Coordinator, at nborgmann1658@charter.net or 618-533-1658 or 618-292-4617.
