In addition to our do-it-yourself retreat options, DuBois Center also offers a number of focused retreats throughout the year. These weekend and day-long events are built around different areas of interest and are perfect for getting away and enjoying the outdoors. Overviews of these retreats are included below. Retreats in 2022:
Wrangle & Ride Horse Retreat – Spring & Fall
Another crowd favorite returns! This weekend is just like our summer horse camp, but with more time with and on the horses! Also, who said you could only ride horses? We’ll have activities like horse apple bobbing, campfire cookouts with your horse, confecting horse treats, a barn party, and many more horse games. Campers will reside in our cottages on Main Camp. Designed for participants ages 12 and over who love horses, this could very well be the highlight of your spring! Expect this enticing retreat April 22nd – 24th for just $185!
Father-Son Retreat – Spring
This popular favorite is the best excuse to get the guys in your house, well, out of the house! Use DuBois Center as your playground to enjoy time with your dad, son, nephew, uncle, grandson, grandpa, or even someone who you think of as one! Geared for ages 5 to 100, you can bond through fun activities like horseback riding, archery, campfire cookouts, nature hikes, games, hayrides, or fishing. Overnight lodging will be in our Main Camp cottages and Hickory Lodge! Join us on April 1st – 3rd. Costs for adults (18+) is $135, $100 for youth (12-17 years) and $65 for children (5-11 years).
Women’s Retreat – Spring – NEW!
This is a new event created just for women ages 21 and over at DuBois Center. Relax and unwind with activities like yoga, enjoy nature walks, and have group spiritual time. This retreat is all about relaxing, getting away from everyday life, and meeting new friends. With an adults-only theme, this is the perfect time to get away and enjoy a stress-free weekend! You’ll enjoy staying in Hickory Lodge with the brand new porch view for only $135 for the weekend of April 29th – May 1st.
Nature Photography Retreat – Spring – NEW!
Returning in 2022! Nature photography is both relaxing and beautiful, so DuBois Center is the logical choice for a weekend devoted to just that! If you are an experienced photographer, you can use our scenery as your inspiration. If you are new to the hobby, we’ll have a flora and fauna expert and a professional nature photographer on hand to identify what you’re seeing–all to help you take the best photos! What’s great about nature is that no matter what the weather is like, there’s always a great photo to be taken! Stay for an overnight in our Main Camp cottages from May 13th to May 14th for $130.
Stargazing Party – Spring – NEW!
We all have our favorite spots at camp to look up at the night sky. But, did you know that even experts agree with us by saying DuBois Center has some of the best conditions to watch the stars?! It’s true, and you can see for yourself with our guided star-theme party! Visit us for a few hours on March 4th and you will learn about the night sky while enjoying a bonfire, hot drinks, and snacks! Not to mention, you learn how to find that perfect spot to watch the stars! Hint: be sure to keep all the lights off!
Rainbow Camp – August
Rainbow Camp is a retreat full of fun, with water games, canoeing, fishing, horseback riding, archery, crafts, pontoon rides, and more. We finish with a yummy dinner and a closing circle as the sun sets over the lake. This event is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer singles, couples and families. Straight allies are welcome too.

Mother-Daughter Retreat – October
This retreat brings the generations together to celebrate and build relationships. Escape for a playful faith-based weekend of fun, laughter, music, crafts, movement, joy-filled worship as well as favorite traditional camp activities!
