Nature’s Classroom Employment

Children are the reason our program exists. You become an integral part of helping students learn about themselves, other people and the environment around them in a fun, experiential way that they will remember for years to come!

An outdoor education instructor should be willing and able to:

  • Work inside and outside in both good and not so good weather
  • Enable students to explore the natural world around them
  • Review and deliver exciting educational programs
  • Be a great team member
  • Have the ability to be silly and sing fun camp songs
  • Learn from others

A typical work day for Nature’s Classroom begins with setting up breakfast at 7:45. Morning classes from 9:30-11:30. Lunch at noon. Afternoon classes from 1:30-3; 3:30-5. Dinner at 5:30. Evening activities from 7-9.

Being an instructor for an outdoor education program brings with it other camp responsibilities as well. Setting up before and cleaning up after meals, singing songs, light maintenance or housekeeping duties, being a DuBois Center ambassador, greeting guests, caring for animals, and the desire to grow as an individual and as a leader.

If you are looking for a great seasonal job where the long days do not feel like work, and your exhaustion at the end of the day confirms the worth of your work, then consider joining our team at DuBois Center.
