Equestrian Program

About Us Equestrian Program Page

DuBois Center has a long-standing equestrian program. Our goal is to help people of all ages and abilities learn about, and enjoy, nature through horses. Guests can build self-confidence and learn new skills while working with horses.

Our programs run year-round and we welcome all groups: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, families, churches groups, schools, and more. We provide basic training for riders before going out on the trails. Safety and fun are our priorities. Email the office today to reserve a lesson and ride!

  • Our Horses:
    • We currently have a herd of 20 beautiful, well-trained horses. No matter what the rider’s level of ability and experience is, we have a horse to match it. Learn more about each of our horses.
  • The Barn:
    • The Barn is home to our herd of horses. It was built in the ’70s and has been upgraded in the last few years with new stalls, concrete aisles, tack room, and a new roof. Near the barn is the horses’ main pasture and woods where they spend their time when they aren’t working.
  • Trails and Arena:
    • DuBois has many beautiful trails winding throughout the property. Our trail rides go through the woods and along the lakes. We also offer arena rides to those who are less experienced, or to those who are looking to learn something new.
  • Events and Programs:
    • Our horses are involved in many of our events and programs here at DuBois.
      • Summer Camps: All campers have the opportunity to ride during their camps. Our horse camps allow campers to focus on horse care, riding skills, and provide more riding time.
      • Nature’s Classroom: The equestrian unit of Nature’s Classroom allows students to learn about horses including caring, feeding, and riding. Weather permitting; classes also get to go out on a trail ride.
      • Retreats: Trail rides are a highlight for many of our Retreats. Twice a year, we host special weekend Horse Retreats.
      • Fall Festival: Arena rides are just one of many activities we offer attendees at our annual Fall Festival event.
      • Sunday Dinner: Not sure about camp? Come join us for one of our two annual Sunday Dinners and test out our horses on an arena ride.
      • Scheduling Rides: We offer affordable arena and trail rides to groups looking to come out just for a day as well. Contact the office for more information.
