Another crowd favorite returns! This weekend is just like our summer horse camp, but with more time with and on the horses! Also, who said you could only ride horses? We’ll have activities like horse apple bobbing, campfire cookouts with your horse, confecting horse treats, a barn party, and many more horse games.

Designed for participants ages 12 and over who love horses, this could very well be the highlight of your spring!

Wrangle and Ride March 23 Registration Deadline

There are still a couple openings for the first Wrangle & Ride of the season on March 23, 2019. Join other horse enthusiasts (12 years to adult) for some quality time with our herd of 20 horses. Clover, Thunder and Zephyr are calling your name!
This event is limited to the first 12 who register – which means more time in the saddle for everyone! Just be sure to register by the deadline on Saturday, March 9.

Wrangle & Ride — Saturday, Nov 3

Love horses? If you are age 12 or older, join us on Saturday, Nov 3 from 9am – 5pm for a day of fun with the DuBois Center herd! Designed for both beginner and experienced riders, this is a horse-intensive day of instruction – tackle grooming, tacking, riding, and other horse-related activities. Beginners will be introduced to basic skills, while experienced riders work on more advanced options. The cost for this event is $60 with lunch included. Families are welcome.

Spring is a great time of year at DuBois Center! Signs of new life are everywhere. The air is fresh and clear, and there is so much to do. Our reservation book is filling with youth groups, school camps, retreats for women and confirmation students, church work days and scout groups. There is still time to plan an event for your church or group, or to get involved in one of the many events sponsored by DuBois Center.

DBC Retreats

DuBois Center offers several retreats throughout the year. These weekend and day-long events are built around different areas of interest and are perfect for getting away and enjoying the outdoors. Overviews of these retreats are included below.

Fall Ride Day – September 6, 2025

A day to bring the family out or get a group of friends together for a horseback ride at DuBois Center. Sign up for a ride time that fits your schedule best. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch for your group to enjoy!

*10 riders max per ride

**Arena Ride: 10:30am. Ages 3-7 with an adult walking alongside the horse. $18 per child.

Trail Rides: 1:00pm, 2:30pm, 4:00pm. Ages 8+. $30 per rider.

Men’s Retreat –  September 26-27, 2025

Come enjoy fun, fishing, and “fellow”ship at DuBois Center! Activities could include fishing, canoeing, card games, disc golf, and archery. Rev. Bill Kapp from EvUCC in Highland, IL will be leading us in faith exploration. Spend some time on the lake – appreciating creation and praising our Creator.

Mother-Son Day – September 28, 2025

Moms, bring your boys for a day of camp fun! Splash in the creek, row a canoe, shoot archery, and spend time together in nature. Rachael Bearth, the Minister of Youth & Christian Education at St. John UCC in Mascoutah, IL will be leading us in faith activities about the relationship between Jesus and his mother, Mary. A day dedicated to strengthening the bond between mother and son!

  • Pricing: $46 for adults, $41 for youth (ages 12-17), and $36 for children (ages 5-11).
  • Check-in: 9:00 am
  • Check-out: 4:00 pm

Mother-Daughter Retreat – October 10-12, 2025

Gather the generations of girls together to celebrate and build relationships for our annual Mother-Daughter Retreat! Get ready to relax – activities could include chair massages, pontoon boat rides, crafts, horseback riding, yoga, and walks in nature! Dr. Jillian Mayer, Director of Christian Education & Faith Formation at St. Paul UCC in Waterloo, IL will be leading us in faith discussion and activities!

  • Lodging: Hickory Lodge & Main Camp cottages
  • Pricing: $140 for adults, $125 for youth (ages 12-17), and $110 for children (ages 5-11).
  • Check-in: 6:30 pm on Friday
  • Check-out: Noon on Sunday

Messy Church Family Retreat –  November 21-22, 2025

Join us for a fun-filled, faith-inspired weekend at our Messy Church Family Retreat!
